On sale today is this rare mid century vintage chesterfield Chaise lounge finished in a rustic thick leather. We believe the piece has been reupholstered at some stage through its life and the hide used during reupholstering is very thick and supple. We removed the base material to check the structure and have taken images of the hide.
We also took images of the original hessian straps and coil springs that are very much still in very good order as can be seen in the images. To confirm, the base material has been put back on now. The back of the headset appears to have been upholstered in a different colour leather which can be seen in the images. To continue the original features, the chaise lounge benefits from having its original turnstile legs with casters which are absolutely stunning and fully working. The leather is in good condition as can be seen throughout and shows age related wear, particularly on the seating area. There appears to two historical repairs to the leather, one of which is on the seating area and one on a side panel but both are firm and will not require any further attention. The woodwork in solid with some aged related marks consummate with its age. All buttons and original stud work are present throughout the set and there are no rips. The top of the headrest height is 71cm and the top of the seating area is 34cm.
